I wrote something pretty good (that is accessible to you even if you are not a sports fan) over at the Rocker Step. This is part of it:
I’m not a Thunder fan — Raptors ‘til I die, baybee — but as a team and as a group of young men, I have long found them impressive and compelling. They are a remorseless killing machine on the court, but off of it they do not conform to an old-school, recalcitrant, emotionally constipated brand of masculinity represented by the worst sports fans you know. They hurt. They cry. They talk about it. In a way they remind me of the 2025 Toronto Blue Jays, a team that rode the power of friendship to an inch of winning the World Series.
Or, rather, the Jays reminded me of them.

I'm happy to announce that my friend Diana Chan McNally won her race for city council. I volunteered on this campaign, including today, so I'm super stoked. Parkdale——High Park, you've got yourself a good one.

Also rebooting DMail (or something like it). For the uninitiated, DMail was an email newsletter that a whole lot of people liked and which I stopped writing when I lost myself for a few years. If you want to be part of history, drop your email address here: combatdavey.substack.com.
