november 7 etc (horsekeeping)
Hey, hi, hello, and welcome to a housekeeping post a.k.a. a "horsekeeping" post. Why "horsekeeping"? Glad you asked! I have long believed that "horse" is the funniest word in the English language.
Think about it. Say "horse" out loud sans context.
Now look at this guy —— 🐴🐴🐴 —— and try to think an uncharitable thought. You just can't do it!
Anyway, these were this week's posts:

November 6's post is the first time I've posted any fiction I've written in a long, long time, so if you are one of those people who hector me to write that book, I'm trying Jennifer. For the non-NBA folks out there, here's the lore re: that.

If you are on the platform and have a spare moment, please follow me on Threads, where I post about baseball, basketball, Toronto, and sobriety in lowercase only and die a little bit every time I have to write "I" as "i" because of this decision, which I made for no reason. Extra points if you're a Blue Jays fan because I have become a not insignificant part of #BlueJaysThreads.

It's late here in Victoria, about 11pm. It may as well be like 3am, because it's quiet af. Not unsettling quiet mind you. Just quiet. We did a few little things in downtown Vic today, including coffee at Hey Happy, a delightful half hour or so at Monkey C's Interactive Artcade, and some top-shelf drinks and snacks at Tourist, which I highly recommend (even though the only non-alc beer on the menu is the Nonny Pilsner, which is fine but like, just fine).
The last time I was in Victoria before this time was in the early 1990s. It is one of the only truly great memories I have about growing up, and when I was walking around downtown today I remembered a lot of what I did here 32 or 33 years ago. Teenager shit, obv, but like... also a lot of walking, looking, appreciating. That was my first real "experience" of the Pacific Ocean; we took the ferry over from Vancouver (and back to Vancouver) and also spent a few days in some small inn near the water while we were in town. Anyway, I liked it here in the early 1990s and I like it here now despite my city boy roots and predilections. If we ever end up leaving Toronto, I can think of worse places to land. To be clear, though, we're not thinking about that. Not even a little bit.
This is def more of a journal entry than I have been using this blog space for, but I guess that's just how she goes today.
