It is worth mentioning that I really wanted to make the title "may 14 gnfnr" but 5 β 3 and structure and consistency is vvv important to me.
πͺπͺ Related: I was around 16 when someone told me that KMFDM stood for "Kill Mother Fuckin' Depeche Mode." That isn't true, but I didn't know that until much later. It actually stands for "Kein Mehrheit FΓΌr Die Mitleid," which is understood to translate to "No Sympathy For The Majority," which is a perspective I can get behind ββ and often have.
π«πΉ Also: while was a massive fan of Use Your Illusion I and II (as was the style at the time), I was never, generally speaking, a Guns N' Roses fan. I have never bored someone to death discussing why The Spaghetti Incident is underrated and I wasn't one of those folks who waited for Chinese Democracy with bated breath. (That said, I think I reviewed it for a publication.)
πΈπΈ Related: Tracii Guns was just inducted into the Metal Hall of Fame.
πΈπ Also: the way you knew someone was a poseur when I was a teenager in the early 1990s is when they would tell you they liked L.A. Guns more than Guns N' Roses. The people who would say things like that were saying things their older brothers thought. Young teenagers today might know about L.A. Guns but only because everything is immediately accessible and knowable, now. Back then the only way you could learn shit about fuck was if someone older thought enough of you that they'd teach you things.
πΈπ Also: the way you knew if someone was annoying around 25 years ago is if they found a way to work "Kyuss was better, actually" into a conversation about Queens of the Stone Age. IMO Kyuss is better than QOTSA, but my point was that anyone who chimed in with a Kyuss opinion 25 years ago was really only saying "Kyuss existed before QOTSA" while asking for a cookie. Not saying I've never rocked an "I knew them before you" ββ I am human, it's happened ββ but the Kyuss guys always stood out to me as a different strain. Some kinda mutation, like.
