⚰️ Persepolis author Marjane Satrapi has died at 56. I was finishing a liberal arts degree (after dropping out three times) at McGill when Persepolis hit, and it was incredible to see 18- and 19-year-old suburban white kids learning about the Islamic Revolution because being publicly interested in Islamic anything a couple years after 9/11 felt pretty subversive.
