It's weird to think about MLK Day within the context of [gestures broadly at America and then passes out] but here we are. That said, it's probably useful to remember that civil rights are never freely given, which is a fancy and poetic way of saying that people who with power and money and access and influence will do anything to keep it. They'll even break reality.

I've really, really tried to avoid talking about any specific incident in the larger moment that is the century of American humiliation, but this one is just so wildly pathetic I couldn't help it.

I hate how true this. We actually make sure to be physically touching (like, maybe just toes) while we do it. Sometimes you just gotta dissociate into dynasty fantasy basketball or MaxSold auctions, you know?
