Today was a travel day, which means it was an anxiety day. Travel anxiety has been a constant companion of mine. It is not based in anything but the potential that something could go wrong. Nothing really ever has, but that doesn't mean it won't or can't.
I am pretty well-traveled. I've been places, and have prepped to go to those places, and leave those places to go to other places, and haven't experienced more than a few situations where I forgot something important and couldn't find a stopgap solution. Still, though I know what I'm doing, the anxiety doesn't really go away. It goes quiet sometimes, but it never really leaves.
Today was no exception. The plan was to work, pack, take the UP to Pearson, eat something there, fly to Vancouver, go to my partner's brother's place. All those things happened, sure, but along the way we experienced a bunch of turbulence which turned me into a 182-pound panic attack for like 5 hours.
At any rate, we're here. I don't really know where "here" is because I don't know Vancouver well, but I know I'm on East 7th relatively close to the East Van Cross.
