You can see into the future, by which I mean that you can map out the likely ramifications of many decisions or actions. Ideally this is what happens before a decision is made or an action is taken if only to ensure you make the best decisions and take the best actions. TL;DR if you are thinking about punching a random stranger in the the face, you don't (or shouldn't) need a supercomputer between your ears to know that this action could result in you getting punched and/or charged with assault.
Understanding cause and effect in re: the example above isn't hard. Any idiot can draw those conclusions, and, for obvious reasons, most people won't ever have to think about might could happen if they cold cocked a stranger for no reason and with no provocation. Thing is, I'd submit that while so, so many people know (or at least sense) that something is terribly wrong with the world right now, most people do not know how to reverse engineer or suss out the causes.
The guy on the ground know he's on the ground because someone decked him. He isn't thinking, "wait, how did I get here?" He's thinking "ow, that hurt." He might be confused about why he got punched, but he isn't confused about what happened. He knows he got punched. He knows he went down in a heap. He knows that it hurt.
We are, like that stranger, laying on the ground looking up at an assailant, but it's not just some guy. Rather, it's a confluence of events, decisions, policies, laws, loopholes, and a whole bunch of other things, and that amalgam has has done violence to us. The amalgam's punch hits us all in different ways. It hits me by placing downward pressure on what kind of salary my decades of experience can command, which, by extension, lowers the quality of everything my work touches, but it also hits me by destroying so, so many things I spent my life paying attention to and caring for.
Every day I inch closer to deleting all my accounts and disappearing from this extractive and abusive iteration of the greatest accomplishment in human history. The internet wasn't a mistake, but it is clear that people en masse were not ready for what it was and what it was obviously capable of becoming. This was made plain when social media became the dominant expression of the internet, but it was plain to a lot of us even before that.
