Whenever one of us says something good or weird or awesome in a way that feels unique or otherwise special, one of us says "write it down," and the general way this goes is that I write it down in the Notes app while saying "stop talking, I have to write this down!" while she keeps on riffing on the thing I am desperately trying to commit to the page-on-a-screen.
Recent entries:

βπ½π₯ "Gardiner? I hardly know her! Or is it barely? Gardiner? I barely know her!" (if you're not from Toronto, click here)
βπ½π₯ "Boats only go south!"
βπ½π₯ "Heβs got really swoopy hair. Do you think heβs an elf who wants to be a dentist?"

I wasn't always a writer-downer. I was an "I'm sure I'll remember-er" and, later, a Post-it Note-r. I think it was a young man thing. Or, rather, a young writer thing. Now I write everything down. These days I am as much archivist as anything else. And it's not because I don't want to forget. It's because I specifically want to remember. Some say no art comes from happiness. I'm not sure that's true.
