I mentioned yesterday that a Lupe Fiasco song recorded last year was "spiritually a 90s hip-hop track." In a similar way, there is something unmistakably 1998-2003 about "PEACES." It merits mention that this was sitting near the top of the Vibes playlist in Apple Music Electronic.

"SIX SHOTS" was also on the Vibes playlist. And where the Roses Gabor track made me feel late 1990s to early aughts, so much of the instrumentation in the Villager song feels not... unrelated to New Jack Swing. Listen, and see if you hear the same.

Earlier today I was thinking about my life back in Montreal ~20 years ago. Later, while I was watching a handful of delightful people take a Bachata dance class literally inside the St. Louis Bar & Grill in the Atrium on Bay, I thought about dancing to "Deceptacon" during an 11-second dance party, a staple of the 13th Hour, which was a staple of the Montreal Fringe Festivals back in the day.
